Yeah, you have to turn the user control off to get statsremote to run, but you don’t need the user control anyway. I agree, user control is a nuisance.
And yes, some things don’t work well with it intitially but can be made to.
And yes, the scanner won’t work unless you access it from paint or some photo program first.
I have never had a problem with windows updates or eaten resources. I have had a Vista laptop for over a year now and have a Vista desktop too now and work on it all the time.
I did hate the laptop when I first got it. With a passion. I am quite happy with it now. It was just a matter of getting it to work the way I like. Now I want a smaller laptop for travel and have been peeking at an apple, but that’s a whole other story.
