Quite simple actually. Same reason I won’t get on a plane or boat that goes out of sight of the nearest land.
Why? because if the damn things end up putting me in the water … I want to know which way to start swimming!

… We lost my dad to a drunk driver this last month and dealing with my siblings is a lot like trying to be rational with a religeous always-rightie … doesn’t matter how much you try to speak towards the rational … that only builds their reslolve that they are right and you are wrong and therefore if the people who translated the Bible the 100,000 times its been translated … put it down in the current King James version that starting on Oct 16, 2008 that any sunrise seen from that point on is “really not there” … then you can rest assured that it exactly the situation and that it cannot possibly be that one of those translators may have accidently hit the “n” key instead of the “h” key.
No, it couldn’t possibly have meant “really hot there”.
… sigh.
