I think what businesses fail to realise is that co-workers in an office enviorment can also be equally distracting as kids /family at home.I work from home although we do maintain an office that i go to twice a week.I get more done at home because of the enviorment i have created in my home,my kids know i work at home and they respect my need for quiet times.
I think working from home and making it successful depends alot on the personality.
