In the UK I would say the opposite is true, it’s poker that needs the offline promotion. There are around 600 high street bingo halls in the UK, adverts on TV for the game around the clock, press adverts, news papers promoting their own bingo and more. There are a few poker ads on the TV, and off course the channels (that bingo has as well) but it doesn’t have the public acceptance or face that bingo currently enjoys in the UK.
