BB1 makes a good point, freeze the account and follow the trail of money
It’s obvious Scott and Betcris could care less about doing the “right thing”, as he claims they always do, he just wants to wash his hands clean of this whole situation and keeps pointing to the fact that Tribun admitted in an e-mail that BOS is responsible for this situation by leaking his details, but i’m not sure that’s the case at all, i think that was what Tribun initially thought while trying to find out what happened.
The fact that the player won money playing poker has nothing to do with anything, why would somebody who found “free money” want to give it right back to the sportsbook, that makes no sense, of course they would try to win more money.
Some possiblities here
1 – Someone did illegally take Tribun’s money, so the details of that person should be provided to the proper authorities and this matter should be resolved in a court of law between Tribun and the other person.
2 – Tribun has an accomplice in Missouri and they are trying to pull a scam by having Tribun claim his money was stolen in hopes of being reimbursed by the sportsbook, but that would be a stupid attempt at a scam since nobody would fall for that, and if that was the case Tribun would be facing jail time himself.
I would tend to believe Betcris is responsible for this in some way, that they mistakingly gave another player access to Tribun’s account, and that player could not resist the temptation of taking the thousands of dollars presented to him, kind of like a bank machine error where you’re gifted with many extra dollars that aren’t yours, few people would report such an incident to the bank.
Another thing that Scott made no mention of, which leads me to believe he’s hiding something, is he never mentioned betting patterns, gamblers have unique characteristics and methods of betting, any experienced bookie would immediately know if 2 different players were making bets from the same account, it’s even more noticeable in poker, the style of play, yet Scott mentions that this other player may have been Tribun, that is total crap, many, if not every gambling operation uses some form of player profiling.
Scott did nothing to enhance the reputation of online sports betting sites, and his handling of this matter only discredited Betcris as a legitimate operation.
Why wouldn’t you help this player with this problem, he was one of your players, even if what happened with his info leaking out was not the responsibility of Betcris you should still help him, he’s out $17 000 and you could easily find out where that money went.
Scott also mentions that BOS is responsible for leaking this player’s info, that’s an admission to me that another player did get access to Tribun’s account, so Betcris knows somebody else accessed his account, that makes Betcris responsible, i’m sure login times and IP locations could prove that.
This looks bad on Betcris and reminds me of the old days where fraud after fraud operation were popping up in Costa Rica, and discrediting the entire country while chasing legitimate gamblers away.
Another possibility here is that Betcris perpetrated this whole incident by targeting players with a large balance, or one of their employees who had access to Tribun’s info created an account simply for this purpose, i wouldn’t put a move like this past them, normally i wouldn’t make unsubstanciated accusations but the fact that Betcris made little attempt to find out what really happened here opens the door to that possibility.
I’d like to know what really happened here
