I came over here from PAP when I heard about this contest and I couldn’t resist telling this story:
I think this happened back in 2005. I came home one night from the pub and a night out with my buddies. I was a little tipsy, but it still wasn’t that late so I decided to play a little online poker.
I logged into my PartyPoker account that had around $1200 in it I think, and immediately started searching for a game to get into. So I find either a $3-$6 NL or $5-$10 NL game and jumped right in.
I soon realize that this table is filled with idiots. People are pushing all-in, consistently making terrible calls, and the best part is they are re-loading too!
So I play pretty conservatively over the next couple hours and just take advantage of all the loose money. After a few hours I turned $1200 into just shy of $10K….. I was still in shock as to what happened.
So I decide to call it a night and log-out as a big winner. Before logging out though, I go to the cashier screen to look at my balance and the big windfall I just had. WTF, my balance is still around $1200????
As it turns out I spent the entire time playing at a play money table and never even realized it. Oops! So let that be a lesson on why you should never play online poker after a night of drinking.
