I used to work for a company – they had us on 4 different level of pay – it was turned into a hiearchy.
Cost cutting went on a voting process. It wasnt packaged as cost cutting it was to our benefit, ie we give you an extra $2000 in your wage as a bonus. You lose two of your annual hollidays for life. the $2000 was staggered. The higher ranked got the most but they had more pull. They convinced their workmates to get screwed over. Next came the break times, then the holiday pay. The newcomers got screwed because their sick pay was voted out for 2 years and they collected statutory.
Personally I voted against all of it. I didnt want the extra cash in my hand although it would have been quite nice at the time. I knew we were getting screwed over. That moved on to it is now. They now have non english speaking immigrants working in the royal mail sorting your letters, just because they can get cheap labour. Wages have went down, theft has went up. I was working with a couple of people for the day. I spent all my time telling them where to put the mail then lifgting it out & doing it myself because they didnt understand and couldnt give a shit either way.
I can relate this to Full Tilt, CaP, PAP and absolute poker. Steady downhill spiral because of a ME ME ME attitude.
