Are the airport signs (and other signs throughout the city) in English? Does anyone there speak English? It would be cool to visit Moscow someday, but I probably wouldn’t do it unless I knew that I would be able to read the signs and communicate with at least some people in English.
Will the conference itself be in English or in Russian?
If it’s in English, but it’s about gaming in Russia, why not just have a Russian-themed, English-language conference in London, or Montreal, or somewhere similar?
If the conference is geared toward affiliates based in Russia, then I suppose Moscow would make sense. Although I still wonder if the seminars will be presented in Russian or English. If they’re in Russian, that would make the most sense. But if they are in English, again, why not have the conference in some other English-speaking country?
i’m pretty sure that the whole conference would be in english. it wouldn’t make sense to have it in russian since most operators wouldn’t speak a word of it.
in terms of the signs, they are in english @ the airport and major streets. i think most subway stations also have signs in english.
out of all my friends who have been to moscow, one way or another, everybody had a crazy experience even with the language barrier. it’s just much more different than the western world so its quite a bit of fun.
as one of my friends put it, you cant beat a guy travelling with a dressed monkey on a leash in the subway :roflmao: that was something he actually saw.
i definitely wish i could attend, as moscow by itself is a fabulous place for going out and its a lot cheaper than london. at least if you don’t go to a 5 star hotel. but i can’t come….
