It seems to work now but I use IE 7.0 so there should not be a problem.
Thanks
Rick
Thanks for that Rick, I have been asking our dev teams, questions
related to topics posted in this thread and have some feedback
for everyone, this may however not be the answers that you are
looking for but I believe that it is a start in the right direction.
For those of you that have been testing the links and downloads,
please could you forward me the account numbers that haven’t
linked to your affiliate account. I need to pass these on to our dev
team to review and sort out.
1. Affiliates show massive clicks & downloads numbers but 0 conversions,
this is either due to Google Bots or something else. Please review.
– At this stage the Google bots causing the clicks and downloads seems to
be the most plausible cause for the poor conversion rates.
– This we will only be able to tell once I have completed the new site and all these
changes has been included to check for any bot activities.
2. The stats are not refreshing and remain static for days at a time.
– Can you please clarify if this is PRLOSS or Traffic stats,
– We are checking the replication to Canada every morning
to make sure that they are running correctly.
3. VegasPartner is not accurately recording every player that is sent, players are
slipping through the system ending up with NOTAGs. Affiliates have tested the links
themselves to see if there accounts were being tracked by making purchases but
nothing came through.
– Can you please send us the account numbers for these players that are sitting
with NOTAGs so that we can chase it up with MGS. I have asked on numerous
occasions for account numbers when these types of problems occur but never
received them. Please could all affiliates that have tested this please forward
the account numbers so that we can review this issue and bring it some finality.
4. Our reports are timing out, even on DSL connections.
– As I have said before most of the time outs occur due to the replication that goes to
Canada. The replication runs every 4 hours at (4am, 8am, 12pm, 4pm, 8pm and12am),
these are the times that most of the affiliates might experience time out problems.
– Also, the Vegas Partner site runs both on MSSQL and MYSQL and the MYSQL is
slow on retrieving the data that causes timeouts when the server are experiencing high
traffic loads. We are currently busy investigating to change all over to MSSQL but we
can’t just flick a switch. We are working here with critical data and therefore must be
sure that all will be working correctly before we switch over. The arrival of the new
server also delayed the schedule as we need to get that server and the cluster up
before we make changes on the database.
