well actually the page I was sent to … and I can’t remember the link but it was to show who is linked to you and you type in your url and then it shows who is linked to you.. I also visited a page provided that showed links via google….. both only showed my own sites linked to me and as mentioned . a few from CAP and many more from GPWA …..
I will take the advice given and take a step back and check again in a few days before I remove links.
frankly I just was pissed because I have kept these links up literally years and then when I checked …. not one link partner showing and I felt very taken advantage of ….
at one point I even was afraid to keep up links to my own sites (due to the BS laws passed) … but kept up links to partners so its not like I’m not trying to honor my trades.
As I know Randy will say….. I’ve even tried putting up links to friends on my first pages …. just to see if it boosted their rankings. Not saying I kept them up on front pages…. but I did give it a shot over a period of a few months ….. just to see if it made a difference.
anyway …. I’ll take advice given and take a step back and check again and via the sites given here ….not just the sites my SEO partner has given me.
I want to be fair. btw: People I’ve written content for have had their links added to at least some of my sites without my asking for recips because its in our best interests that their sites rank.

I’m confused as to what you’re concerned about?
My retail site dropped in page rank in the last update but actually moved up in Google from position 7 to position 2 for my top keyword.
For my slots site I only have 7 backlinks in Google but sometimes I see a link exchange partner site as the referring link in my stats. Every once in a while I check all my link exchange partners to see if I’m still listed with them and if not I dump them.
One of the few sites that show up for a Google back link for me is xhttp://www.ogdb.org/
