Hmmmm
Any affiliate manager who has been in the business for a few years will tell you that gambling and sex do not convert. It has been tested over and over again and each time has proven not to convert. In fact, depending on how you promote the two together, it sometimes even hurts your SE rankings.
I know a guy (one of the big guys in both industries) who promotes both porn and online casino/poker/sportsbook… he has been around for years and tries the two together about once a year to once every 6 months just in case anything has changed since last time. He has never had a success.
While I have nothing against the porn industry at all, I’m going to have to agree with the affiliates on this one. Adding programs to this forum where Online Gaming is not their main thing (i.e. they are not an online casino, online poker, sportsbook) will move the industry in the wrong direction and while it’s hard enough already for the US market alone, I don’t think we need to be adding to the pot.
Anyone can search the net and find free porn pics or movies. I used to do it myself when I was underage, so I know it can be done. But if online gaming banners start appearing on these sites too, there will be even bigger fish to fry than what we have on our hands now, especially if it looks like we are completely accepting of this by having, imho, a porn aff program certified on an online gaming aff forum.
gambling and sex goes together. Vegas, Los angeles, gambling and sex been together for years. Gambling is for Adults, sex is for adults, if you dont like it dont look.
Porn/nude adult females or males is not illegal if you disclose the right information.
Gambling and sex most likely goes together offline. And I agree with you – If you don’t like it don’t look – but we gotta be realistic – not everyone thinks like online casino and porn affiliates.
For example, Big Brother here in Australia had an adults only show up until last year because an incident occurred involving something called a ‘Turkey Slap’ and politicians didn’t approve of it. People complained etc. Mind you it wasn’t even aired on tv. The only people who were able to see it were the people who paid for premium streaming over the net. These people had to be 18 to buy this streaming. The TV show has been criticised for years because of its voyeuristic nature and obviously was even more after this because the girl involved wasn’t keen on the idea of being ‘Turkey Slapped’. So the two boys got evicted immediately and there was a lot of controversy regarding it.
Because of that the uncut adults only show got axed. Personally I don’t think the two were related in any way. Most of what was on the adults only show was just uncut bleeps on the swearing and them talking about things that can’t be aired during family time. So it was all the good stuff.
My opinion was, if you don’t like it don’t watch it. However because that was (in their opinion) directly related to ‘uncut’ they axed it completely.
I suppose what I’m trying to say is, if they can point the finger badly toward our industry in any way, they will, and they will go full steam ahead with it.
This is all in my own opinion and I’m in no way forcing it apon anyone else. Everyone is entitled to their own. I sincerely hope I haven’t offended anyone with what I’ve said either.
I’m sure there are porn industry affiliate program forums which would be much better suited to the type of site you are trying to get approved Yoav (perhaps http://www.affiliateprograms.com would have been a better choice?) Good luck
BTW – if anyone tries this program and it works for them, I would be interested to hear more about it. Cheers.
