Don’t know what version of Eudora you are using, but I have 5.1 (and I’ve been using Eudora since about 1995) – and 5.1 definitely allows each account to have login and password.

The only real complaint I have now about Eudora is that encryption is a pain in the butt and requires the purchase of a plug-in. Other than that Eudora has been a star, easy to back up (simply copy the directory), easy to move to a new computer (simply copy the directory), etc.

I have resisted Outlook and its variants since day one. It’s bad enough I have to use Windows and Office and IE already…

I did finally have to start using Outlook Express with my new job since November – specifically because of the encryption plus custom settings for the mail server – but Eudora continues to handle everything else for me, even without an upgrade for at least the last 6-7 years.

Too true Siouxzee! I’ve been with Eudora since 1997 so anything else wasn’t an option for me.

It appears that BS, since it’s takeover by AT&T (can’t stand them), have instituted filters that insist on a user name and p/w for every outgoing mail if it isn’t …@bellsouth.net. If your addies are webmaster@domainname, which mine are, you’re out of luck.

I’m researching Eudora today (after 3 hours on the phone to BS yesterday) to see if the newest version ($19.95) allows input of user name and p/w for each outgoing. From the chat forums on Eudora’s site, it appears that this is so – but I think you have to input a different port. Also they’ve added the ability to pull-down one-click your originating addy instead of having to re-type it in Tools all the time :woohoo:
