Yep – we got hit pretty hard. Power cuts and massive damage to many areas around here. We had no power for about 20 hours. Some parts were worse hit than this area – but it was still a massive eye-opener as to the power of mother nature. Especially the the part where you realise how dependant you are on power.
Winds were up at 140-160 Km/h and so much rain in such a short space of time I have never seen.
Clean up is underway and the trains etc. will be normalised on Monday apparently. I guess 4 days is not too bad when one compares what has happened elsewhere in the world.
Thankfully everybody I know here was not hurt and only 2 had some damage to their cars.
