Interesting question. I am entirely text link oriented too so responses will be interesting to me also.
However, way back when i started (18 months) my research indicated to me that it’s largely to do with the target market. Americans seem to go for banners, Brits for less ad-focused stuff. Assume its still the case? And what to Europe i wonder?
