Probably the easiest option is not to use flash.

I think that it will be a user choice as to whether the new “default” settings are changed.

Now – I thought I was well protected – but I actually picked up one of these trojans the other day and it was a particularly nasty bugger to get rid off.
:nervous:

It needed repeated runs of AVG, Spybot and Ewido to keep it in check as it had a new way of respawning … but eventually I got it. After about 4 hours.

I will not be changing the new settings … and you’d have to assume the majority of MS-EXplorer / Win XP users will be the same.

I haven’t had the update yet (I don’t use autoupdate), but a few minutes ago I received a few link exchange requests via the script I use. They were all from the same guy. When I clicked on one of the sites to check it out, my anti-virus went crazy with about 8 trojan warnings. I use AVG 7.1 Pro, and it instantly alerted me.

Now that I know what’s going on, I’m going to update right away.

Needless to say, this guy won’t be getting any link exchanges.
