For the record, we never gave any stale explanation. We did have an inflated downloads issue. We were open with affiliates as we worked on it. There were never any missing players, simply additional downloads. We theorized that search engine bots were likely the cause. Ultimately, it turned out that was the case. The download counter was counting downloads when it started sending the webinstaller … instead of after the webinstaller prompted the user for their email. So as the bots crawled your sites, and ultimately through to our sites, via your affiliate links, they would cause the download counter to increment when they followed the download link. That has since been identified & fixed (weeks ago) as I posted in our forum.
Furthermore, we have recently launched a new stats system which some senior affiliates on this forum have said are the most transparent stats available and offer great detail about players and other aspects of your business.
I feel confident when I say I think these points should alleviate any affiliate concerns about our program regarding this issue.
