I’m Canadian and the conservatives scare since they so closely resemble the republicans. The conservatives are just as prowar and anti environment as our southern right wingers. I live in a province that is run by conservatives and the government bends over for any corporate request.
Yes the current Liberals are full of fraud and hide billions in tax dollars (there is no logical reason why our taxes would be so high) and I hate this group, but at least they are not corporate puppets like the conservatives. There’s actually 2 other groups that people can elect but unfortunately people only seem to elect those with the largest marketing budgets.
Unfortunately it looks like the conservatives will win. The main problem that I see with Canada is that we are not a true democracy. For example last election the green party received over 4% of all votes but had zero seats and zero federal representation. If it was a true democracy they would have 4% of the seats.
