I got hit by a new trojan last week. I stupidly in a moment of madness clicked on a link in an email I got. Well I thought I had resolved the problem. Until this morning that is. My Neteller account was locked down as was my girlfriend’s internet banking account. It transpired someone last night tried to gain access to both.
Luckily they failed and after the designated number of attempts allowed to login were used up both accounts were locked down.
This has not made my day at all. I have had to buy a new external usb harddrive to back up and salvage valuable files on the affected PC. Which is currently being formatted and rebuilt. My own fault really, my laptop is firewalled to the hilt and I don’t normally if at all click on links on emails from people I don’t know. My Desktop will also now be locked down once I get it back up and running.
Luckily whilst a costly experience in time, no damage was done other than a lot of inconvenience on my part. Just changing all my passwords alone took over half an hour.
