My own thoughts on this:

Right now I’d say “no”, but i think its logical in time as Google looks to improve SERPS, it may. You see, one of the big things that SE’s having really known how to factor in properly yet (and which is probably the single most important factor in making a business successful in the long term) is “branding”. You have bet365, someone else has bet24, someone else just has bet, someone has bet247 etc etc and there is confused branding which will hurt everyone in that group over time to some extent.

If you are looking to develop a site with long-term potential, you are far better off having a distinctive Brand for your site IMHO. If you are looking for a development to sell on, then its less important as many out there don’t understand the importance of branding. If you are looking at straight domain resale then a 365 is probably so-so but will limit it to niche buyers and will be much more dependent on the popularity of the domain keyword.

As an aside, i think Domain keywords will die out in importance in the long-term for SERPS as on-page content and off-page relevancy algos get more intelligent. I’m also 100% convinced inbound link importance will gradually die too, but whereever i go i seem to be largely alone in that one :D

Cheers
