Whatever the law turns out to be in the US or Canada, i don’t wish to run afoul while it’s being decided. I moved to Canada as a result of the uncertainty and political nature of US law and online gaming/advertising/etc.
My lawyer has pointed out:
1. that selling ads and delivering people to a legal (one that is operating legally in it’s home jurisdiction) casino is not operating a “gaming house”.
2. Canadian prosecutors aren’t elected officials and can’t initiate investigations, and wait for the police to bring them cases.
3. If i have no servers, or banking or solicitation in Canada, the police in Canada will have no reason to investigate.
hence, his advice, don’t host or solicit in Canada, there should be absolutely no trouble.
I do point out several other things, 1) gambling federation (in montreal) doesn’t take canadians (or didn’t last time i looked). 2) the owner of bodog is Canadian and bo dog doesn’t take Canadians. 3) Tiger Gaming, just moved all their hosting and support out of Canada (server at kanawakhe)
But these are operators. Everyone who knows me, will tell you I am the most cautious/paranoid affiliate in North America! :nervous:
OH, happy thanksgiving everyone.
