If Microsoft ever has the need to spam one of their pages to the top of any search engine I have no problem with it because I trust their information and know it will always be current at the time of publification (spelling?)
this is of course a facist outlook – and a fucking scary statement. geesh
That’s a very unfortunate statement:
You don’t have a problem with a company using unethical methods to get customers as long as their product is of quality…
I agree with playsafe here.
you know, buying links and trading links is one thing – the website author knows and regulates what is happening on his site – he isn’t being flogged by unwanted / unrequested links. Google knows this is going on and has control of the weight it assigns to the links, therefore all parties are knowing what is going on. Spam links are different. Is it okay to steal a bums money because he is asleep? This really goes back to that old argument “is it okay for someone to enter your house because your door is unlocked”
What if I have a personal blog and for whatever reason you tarnish up my family pictures and dialog with your casino ads… hmmm… is that okay?
So we’ve all been reduced to running around trading links, buying links, and spamming.
IS THIS THE LIFE YOU WANT? I want to build quality websites myself… playing little tricks on each other is pretty childish. Why should anyone be exempt from the rules of the game?
So in closing, gather up all your integrity and try something worth while. If you try the tricks some people are talking about in this thread you’ll get left behind in the innumberable amount of future google upates to come…
Slowly, one by one, your tricks will expire … and then, only sites that offer things will be left.
Those who are at the top for legitimate reasons will remain there without any effort and will win the game. Others will still be looking around for things to float on and you may be able to tread water for awhile… but you’ll get tired.
