In my experience, sometimes obnoxious behavior can be stopped with embarrassment and pressure. The real bottom line here is that this behavior is unethical and downright sleazy. We need more honest, professional people in this industry — not more obnoxious, lazy cheaters.
You can embarrass them, pressure them to sell it to you, contact anyone they affiliate with and urge them not to do business with someone who does this, etc. Or you could just chill and let the person get the mispelled type-in traffic that you weren’t going to get anyway.
To “chill” is to silently accept this outrageous behavior.
