For argument’s sake, not because I am necessarily convinced, I am going to answer. But I am starting to think the industry has reached a point of saturation and these points are some of the results, because:
It doesn’t explain why the casinos cant retain players
There is always a bigger and better bonus. I have a newsletter and my site is 60% repeat visitors. I can track what many of my players do to a point. They follow the money – as in follow the new bonuses. They are not bonus hunters – they do deposit and play good honest amounts and don’t quit just because wagering requirements are fulfilled. But they will go to where they can have the biggest bankroll, and you can’t blame them. So periodically they hop around. I try to keep them hopping between my programs ….
It also doesn’t explain the seeming $5 player value i seem to get
I get these values mostly from free money offers. Deposit $20, get $20 free. Or, even worse, get $20 free, no purchase necessary. These things used to work to draw players in, but they have become so plentiful that we are practically educating and raising bonus hunters.
nor why so many players bother to visit the site and dont convert.
Maybe they already played there some time ago, saw the banner at your place, remembered the casino and thought to try it again. Someone else’s player going through your site. This is some of it. But I also think they just shop around a lot more, for more games, better bonuses, and if they visit any player boards at all, better wagering requirements. Or the casino just feels right or wrong to the person – they do or don’t like the color etc. Casino fronts have become so generic, they hardly fascinate anyone anymore. Most look like billboards. So many to choose from, why not surf a little and find something that appeals to you?
