Party Charging players monthly fee for being “inactive”

Can someone explain to me why this is in the Party T&Cs? It’s disgusting.

probably the single biggest reason is because they can do it and still getaway with it. they must have millions of inactive accounts with some funds remaining and they are trying to milk them…somebody got to pay for dip****’s concessions to DOJ!

The question is will you earn affiliate earnings on the money they are taking?

Wouldn’t that make you a “partner in crime”?

well after speaking to them at CAP Lon for 10 mins and asking them to get in touch with me afterwards to set up a decent affiliate deal with me for my network of sites, and them not getting in touch, I won’t be touching Party.

funny how they haven’t replied to this thread yet to “explain” the wonderful clause I mentioned.

    Hi there,

Just got in and saw these comments in this new thread,

1st of all I was not aware of the alleged “charge” of inactive accounts and now checking this out and will come back to you soon with an justification / answer.

2nd – Why is it funny that we did not answer this thread yet?`

Alex Ross – If you feel that you should have contacted with a great deal and somehow our representatives did not get back to you could be for a lot of different reasons, but you can always contact us by email or phone! I saw your websites and noticed that you have some rake back poker sites, as Party is not allowing rake back it could be because of that, but I do not know exactly in this case…

I am over and over again amazed over the constructive level of posts here sometimes, why not ask questions or comment in a way that can help us and yourselves to improve our affiliate program to everyones benefit?

I am here to help out and publish updates, but please keep comments in this forum polite and based on facts (for ex. comment like: …somebody got to pay for dip****’s concessions to DOJ! is neither justified or true…)

Thanks and will come back with update soon,
    Nick

I took this as a funny too, not an accusation. I am sure no harm intended with that comment.

Wow, you work for party, isn’t your job knowing about these things before we do?

2nd – Why is it funny that we did not answer this thread yet?`

uh, because you pay ~$10k for this spot and should maximise its ROI?

After speaking to one of your people at CAP for 10-15 mins and them telling me they would contact me regarding setting up some stuff, I think it’s pretty damned unprofessional for them not to get in touch… Why bother with CAP? Why bother talking to affils? Why bother forging relationships? Can I have those 10 minutes of my life back please? Regarding my sites, I own 30+ sites actually and could have pushed Party on a bunch of them w/ no problems… so it’s party’s loss really, not mine.

Well if that’s not constructive criticism I gave you, I give up.

Yes, it is true we charge / deduct $5 (administrative fee) first if a players party account is inactive for 180 day’s, find the details in the T&C below…

    https://secure.partyaccount.com/about/legal_information_s.do?productID=POKER&brandID=PARTY#Inactive_Account_Fees_and_Abandonment_of

    11. INACTIVE ACCOUNT FEES AND ABANDONMENT OF ACCOUNTS

11.1 If you do not access your Account by ‘logging on’ to your Account using your Account name and password and either (i) place a cash wager or bet via the Services, or (ii) enter a tournament with a cash entry fee via the Gaming Services, or (iii) play a raked hand via the Gaming Services, as applicable, for any consecutive period of 180 days, then after those 180 days (the ‘Grace Period’) your Account (and any related account with any ESP) will be deemed ‘Inactive’.

11.2. Once your Account has been deemed Inactive the Company is entitled to charge you an administrative fee (the ‘Inactive Account Fee’). The Company will deduct an amount up to the Inactive Account Fee amount from your Account Balance on the day following the end of the Grace Period and then every thirty (30) days thereafter in accordance with the Inactive Account Fee Schedule [NOTE: Partypoker only.].

We will stop deducting the Inactive Account Fee from your Account Balance if your Account is re-activated by entering a tournament, or making a cash bet or wager, or by playing a raked hand.

Would this “admin fee” still be deducted if the account balance is zero, thus causing the account to go into a negative balance?

If account balance is zero and there is no money in account then no deduction will be made.

Additionally, we will not deduct the full Inactive Account Fee from account balance if account balance is less than the Inactive Account Fee amount. However, we have the right to deduct “up to” the Inactive Account Fee amount. This means, for example, that if you have an account balance of €2.00 EUR and the Inactive Account Fee is €5.00 EUR, then we can deduct the €2.00 EUR from your account balance (if your account remains inactive).

    Yes, strange terms.

Party applied a charge to my account. So what did I do? Did I go back to them and start betting again? err no I dont use them anymore.

Another sportsbook, rather than charge after a period of inactivity, gave me a £5 free bet to go back to them and start using them again. So what did I do? Did I go back to them and start betting again? Course I did!

    Hi again,

We should not get confused here, there is a difference between in-active fees that I am sure that other operators also have. (for example did you investigate this with the sportsbook you are mentioning here?)

We also run re-activation campaigns (to the benefit of You, the affiliate) and give special bonuses etc…but this is not to be confused with having administrative fees or even the two being compared. I think everyone following this thread would agree.

I hope we can close this issue by concluding that operators have sometimes administrative fees, and they are advertised in the Terms & Conditions. We do not take out any fees in an account where there is Zero balance. See previous posts.

All operators do re-activation campaigns but can not be compared to an administrative fee, thats completely two different things.

In addition to this we have recently lowered our minimum deposit and improved our player offers greatly to the players benefit.

    All the best,
    Nick
