InactiveCan existing players keep playing and depositing?
November 6, 2008 at 11:56 am #785686Anonymous
InactiveAny funds due, and payable to you, in terms of past commitments will of course be honored and paid out in accordance with the normal ReferBack payment schedules.
Does this mean that US affiliates are no more as well?

In the interim players will be able to continue placing wagers, however the long term view is to become 100% independant of US purchases and play with our focus being solely on rest of the world where we are already getting the majority of our business from.

Hi there Sis_Corner,
I amended my original post to cover this.
Referback has always been a place where US affiliates were welcomed and always will be. We stopped taking US players, where affiliates live does not concern us

The part you quoted was in reference to any earnings due to affiliates from US play, we want affiliates to be clear that we will honor our agreements to the last cent – no affiliates will be short changed in this, regretable, but necessary move.
On a positive note, the internet is far greater than the North American continent and we welcome any affiliate who is looking to make money with us by acquiring non US resident players!

InactiveOK you need to say this really slowly and spell it out for me… my head is already spinning.
I have an existing player from the US who brings in a nice chunk of change for me each month. Will this player be allowed to keep playing for the foreseeable future ?
i understand you are no longer focusing on bring in new US players – but we keep getting paid for the old ones – right?

Hey Pam,
Thats right, for now they can but its only for the short term.
Here is how I put it for Peralis “In the interim players will be able to continue placing wagers, however the long term view is to become 100% independant of US purchases and play with our focus being solely on rest of the world where we are already getting the majority of our business from.”

InactiveDoes this mean that at some point in the future you will stop allowing our existing U.S. players to play or will you just wait until they stop playing on their own?
Either way, I would assume you would then sell your/our U.S. players to a platform where they’ll be able to continue playing and in this case I really hope you (and every other program) remember to keep the affiliates in mind and make sure we’ll continue earning from those players (wherever they end up).
I know it’s early, but this really does suck.

InactiveHow long will it be before existing players are locked out? How long is “short term?”

I think the answer is yes from what I understand, but I would not hold my breath on how LONG that foreseeable future will be.
I also wanted to add that we can’t be mad at the casinos or microgaming on this. We need to get the US regulated. Spending time complaining about this is not productive as they have made the decision and have the right to do so.
They hung in there with us for two years now we need to fix this problem ourselves.

LucretiaMemberi think the time between the announcement and the moment new US players are not welcome anymore is too short, do you think we can change all our sites in a few days ??
Players get confused and this will hurt the MG online G. industry for sure.
But whenever there are losers the winners are just round the corner : RTG, Vegas Techn. , Top Game , Rival Casino will do better because of this.
