vladcizsolMemberI think its a safe guess the result of this is not going to be beneficial to the site owners whose content is being copied.
This chapter of the book of affiliate marketing history is getting blacker and blacker. I wish there was a permanant solution to all this nefarious activity by a handful of programmers (I wont call them webmasters), but I cant figure an effective one out.

InactiveLooks to me like a search site that searches the search engines (unless I am missing something)

InactiveIt appears to be a search site, but it’s using content taken directly from website pages. Big enough chunks of it to matter.

InactiveLots of great information on that site Dominique mentioned, particularly in the forums.
One way to stay ahead, or at least to recognize tricks being played on your sites, is to read the blackhat sites.
An extremely interesting article at syndk8.com, is a white-hat vs. black-hat debate between Earl Grey, professional Search engine spammer (and operator of the Black Hat Syndk8 forums), and randfish, well known professional white-hat SEO:

Inactiveah. Interesting site, but I don’t think I have the time to read it. I read the basics page and gathered that this site is grabbing content and displaying it in order to rank for lots of different keywords.
How are they making any money, though, until they actually add affiliate links?
Doesn’t make much sense to me still.
Maybe if I have some time one day I’ll read their forum, but at this point it is all I can do to keep content on all of my sites

I am tired of them knowing things we do not.

InactiveI don’t like to encourage scraping but sometimes you have lie down with dogs. I do belong to several black hatters forums some are hidden some are not. I have viewed many scripts and spoke with many of them.
I have been looking into scripts they use, but not as closley as I should, not enough time. But this constant scraping is going to at least slow down, I can see it happening. The scrapers concentrate on their profession while we concentrate on our websites. They have one job, scrape and we have two, our website and watching out for scrapers. Once people start fighting back just a little, it will help.
I joined these forums under false pretenses and because I know several programming languages I am welcome. Some are pretty stupid some are very brilliant.
The scripts are spiders that normally scim the first two pages for targeted
keywords. So if your serps are in the top 20 I quarantee you are being scraped. The scrapers are making an incredible amount of cash. greek39 jap

InactiveI agree Dominique, begin to learn its very tedious work and will demand alot but in the end it will be worth it.
Always keep a good and complete record of the scraper. Learn some Jargon certain terms of tags have cetain meanings.
Some may already know some Jargon from the hackers dictionary, like FYI, NIL, FYA
yes these are some very common hacker talk. But what about THX 1.0e6, / , T
Knowing some of these will enable you to better understand what these people are talking about. I personally never use them because I want all people to understand what I am saying.Be aggressive, take a tough stance if diplomacy fails. If you know any sort of programing language minus HTML gain the trust and respect of some highly respected hackers. I am not talking malicious hackers, but the ones who gave us the internet. They just might do you a favour. At times I tag my posts some understand them some don’t.
I can post a scraper script and expand on the topic, but I am not sure if it would be appreciated or allowed. I do know how it works, and some possible solutions to the problem. greek39

xhttp://www.casinocitycentral.com/page.jsp?content=Games%20Harveys&start=10I imagine this site has a piece of everybody at least once. It’s huge.
What the heck is it’s purpose? It doesn’t seem to have any affiliate links. Just chunks of hundreds of sites, with links to them.
Thanks for this find.

InactiveThere is a ton of sites being copied.
I only listed a few of the copied websites that I immediately recognized as belonging to CAP members, and didn’t bother to look around all that much much. Didn’t need to: It was obvious that the site mentioned above is a bad-ass scraper site, and even if you don’t see your site mentioned by me in this thread, you need to go take a look anyway.
I’ve seen this scraper site coming up on the first page of google for a few serps. It’s time to report it to google and bust it. If it’s getting any decent serps at all, those serps are coming at the expense of others.
