Hey guys,
I am sure that the title was properly confusing
There are a ton of sites out there that have links to casinos which you cannot tell will take you to the casino. I, for one, have clicked on them (before becoming an affiliate) and then groaned when it took me there instead of…. maybe a review or something.
My question is… does anyone feel that this converts? I am limiting that type of click on my main site and am curious if that might also limit the number of signups…
Thanks,

Do you have a better chance of converting by tricking people into links than by pre-selling them with a review?
Only real way of checking this is a split test.

On my site I have links that look like:
[Top 3 Casinos]
[ Click To Go To Casino]
x Casino
y Casino
z CasinoThis is a menu which lists the top 3. In fact, wherever I have a link to a casino, I have ‘Click to go to Casino’.
I am curious if this is a good strategy… or if letting people figure it out on their own (like most sites I run into) is a better strategy. Since I put it up, I have had less clicks to the casinos… However, the signup ratio is better per click.
My site hasn’t been around long enough to know if this route is any better than the other.

PS – I am not trying to trick anyone, though, or I wouldn’t have chosen the route that I did.

I think you will do better making it clear where your links go.
I also believe a well written trustworthy third party review will convert much better than a casino’s PR fluff splash page.
These both seem to suggest you should stick with the “click to go to X casino” setup.

Yes… All our reviews are done ‘from scratch.’ We would never use casino fluff. I see a lot of that on the web and it is just too easy to see through. I doubt it converts well.
I will continue with the ‘Click to Go’ methodology as the conversion is good…
Thanks for the advice.
