    Thanks Bernie
Yep, we have been reporting on this for some time. Its scary stuff and I believe its the government acting out beacuse so far they have failed to force through new gambling legislation.

They figure if they can’t get the new laws on the books this year then they will attempt to crippile online gambling by going after the advertising outlets.

It makes sense as a strategic attack. First they restrict the players ability to deposit or withdraw funds then they reduce the casinos ability to even attract new clients through advertising.

Effectively they can and are shrinking the market without new laws being enacted. I predict the next thing we will see in this multi proged attack is for the DOJ to approach mainstream online outlets like Google, MSN, Overture and Doubleclick and make an example of one of them. It’s the logical progression and the effects will be very profound.

The only hope we have I think is if this administration is removed from office by voters who finally realize the tremendous damage thats been done to our economy, the out of control budget deficit, continual military adventures that cost us over $100 billion dollars and the loss of American prestige throughout the world.

If G.W. gets elected again we can pretty much count this business as dead by the end of 2004.

Sad but totally true. Not to mention the loss of lives.

I posted that from PRWeb mainly because that was the first time I had actually seen the identities of those who received the supoenas.

I agree with the Professor that the next step will be to go after Google, Overture, Yahoo, and many more online advertisers. For anyone out there that does not take this seriously, think again. Will the online gambling industry survive this? It remains to be seen at the moment, but it is not looking to good at this point.

I suspected this as a possibility when the Vegas casinos
decided not to go ahead with their online casino plans,
    some after extension planning.

I was really up in the air last week as to what to do. There is an amount of panic out there that should not be ignored. I started going crazy and thinking about meds and other affiliate programs.

Just be careful and don’t let it consume you. Stay focused.

    Cheers.

In other words, be worried, but stay focused.

Captain … if the special interests continue their chess play this is definitely next … 2 other possibilities will likely follow

    1. for stock players out there, this may be the time to make a buck short selling (there’s always a positive somewhere)

    2. Because cash flow will be affected by the online advertisers, free listings for the entire Top pages or so will be be history
    in the coming 1-3 years.

I’m against Bush cause he’s opened the pollution gates for big biz again. so don’t get me wrong when I say this…. but isn’t it the democrats that are the ones which are the worst about wanting to tell us “average americans” what’s in our best interest?

The Democratic & Republican party change with time and administration.

The situation this time is different in my opinion.

We don’t have a Republican party in a Democracy, we have an oligarchy in the Democracy with a Republican head.

Not a good move. The head lied to the body about.

    a. weapons of mass destruction
    b. 9/11
    c. Saddam being linked to Osama

    so…. WHY?

Perhaps because our President, Vice President and other key members of the administration are backed by multi-national conglomerants such as “Bechtel” and “Halliburton” who are naturally getting the “no-bid” contracts to “rebuild” Iraq.

This administration threw sand in our eyes to make us bicker about party lines all the while using non-partisianship as a major tool in getting his way. He completely lied to the American people and made us fools of the world.

Currently speaking I think the Democratic platform is simple enough. (I get the DNC newsletter, etc)

GET BUSH OUT OF OFFICE in 2004 or be prepared to face serious consequences.

    PROTECT OUR ENVIORNMENT.

GET OUR JOBS BACK. (if we lost them). (or give some money back to our clients, so we can make some!)

What a joke … if it was illegal why would they waste their time for that last several years trying to pass legislation to outlaw it?

These strong handed tactics are nothing short of dictatorship! This government is getting way in over their heads in way too many areas!

Its time for another recall …

Amen to that. Anybody got a good washed up actor we can put on the ballot? What’s Henry Winkler doing these days?

I bet the Fonz would knock off G Dubya….

The Bushes have a tendancy to use the US constitution as toilet paper. The big brother just did it again in Florida.
It is imperative for our industry and freedom in general, to remove these people from office next year.
I remember when the talk was how Democrats were the ones in favor of big government and protecting us from everything. This administration has created the largest beurocracy in US history and has tried to protect us from evils to the point that we are no longer free to make our own decisions. The problem is I really think the Democrats (right or wrong) actually believed they were helping people. I think with the Repubs. it’s more about control and shoving conservative religious beliefs down our throats.
And Iraq? Don’t get me started there. What a joke. Stopping the war on terrorism to satisfy the whims of your buddies in big business (check here: http://www.newbridgestrategies.com and here: http://www.newamericancentury.org/ ).

Here is what Rumsfeld said in a memo dated October 16:
“the United States “has made reasonable progress in capturing or killing the top 55 Iraqis” but has made “somewhat slower progress” tracking down top Taliban leaders who sheltered al-Qaida in Afghanistan.”
Well, duh. Where are our priorities here?
I really love America, but right now it is a pathetic embarrassment to me. There seems to be a growing but still too weak ground-swell of people who feel this way. I’m hoping that next year this administration will be exposed for what it really is.

    Hey there,
I have been there before. I’m actually a fan of Greg Palast (http://www.gregpalast.com). Although I need to read about most of this stuff in short blasts so I don’t go crazy realizing how bad things really are. (and they are bad)
Costa Rica sure is nice :D
