I’d love to get a response from the Party brass on this site:
On the FAQ’s page, the webmaster notes:
Rakeback is 100% forbidden on PartyPoker and no affiliate is allowed to provide MGR-based direct cash payments back to their players. We offer player rewards to our known and loyal players, and only that.Among those player rewards? Conveniently buried on page two of “gift certificates” are $500 Party Poker gift certificates, which equal cash to your Party Poker account.
I love weak attempts at smoke and mirrors. Bottom line is this: Player’s rake is tracked by this affiliate through some means, and the players are paid based on their gross rake totals.
A few months back, Party came down with a hard stance against rakeback. I wish they would make up their mind. Either be for rakeback or against, and if you are going to be for it, make it available to all affiliates.
If you push Party, expect your whales to be swimming away shortly. Meanwhile, you may consider contacting your affiliate manager and asking them what’s going on. Mine was very surprised at this site’s existence…

January 20, 2006 at 7:33 am #681402AnonymousInactiveYeah. I read that thread. His reply as to how he tracks the players rake is vague.
He says that “Jeremy” is close to accurate with his “pit boss” analogy. Right…like this guy is going to stroll around Party Poker checking all the players signed up under his code? Umm… quick flaw I should point out. If they all use the same code (which they do – check the FAQ), he cant even know who is signed up through him. His stats at Party work just like yours.
His affiliate manager sends him statistics on his players in either a greater or lesser degree. Otherwise this scheme is impossible. At the very least, his affiliate manager would have to confirm that “BillyBob” signed up through his code. With that information, he could have BillyBob send him all his hand histories, or a screen shot of Poker Tracker rake estimation. Both of those involve alot of trust and work.
I’m guessing his affiliate manager is sending the stats weekly as this guy updates his stats for the players weekly. I would love to know who his affiliate manager is, if this deal is going to continue to fly. I’ll bet he grows to a good quarter million in monthly MGR in his first month.

So stay tuned.
