Its official – The event has moved to Barcelona following the industry’s feedback –

BAC 2011 will return to the sunny shores of the Spanish coast on the 8th-11th of September 2011. Back by popular demand, Barcelona was picked out of four top European locations by our delegates as their city of choice for the next iGB Affiliate Conference. So put it in your diary, grab a post-it, note it down, ask for a reminder – whatever it takes, but make sure you keep BAC fresh in your mind. It’s coming soon. Watch this space.

    :dancecat:SAVE THE DATE – Sept 8th – 11th – More details to follow:dancecat:

    Is this really final?
Because if it is you guys must really love Spain and don’t give a shhhhh about other …
You have the Barcelona Affiliate Conference in September and you have the IGBEspana in Madrid in November, why not make another conference in October in Sevilla or Pamplona if you guys are so focused on Spain.

Sorry but i’m really angry that there is no more focus on other parts of Europe.

    Take care

I’m guessing it might be easier for everyone around the world to get to Barcelona in fewer flights then Pamplona and Seville?

I believe Alex asked members to vote on this location and that was what majority wanted.I would like Alex to plan a cruise conference in Europe but I may not get my way either :colgate:

Wow Big Post! Please see explanation etc. below

First the Barcelona and Madrid conferences are completely different, Madrid is an event now in its 4th year where is is completely targeted at the Spanish speaking market so all content, stands, etc is in Spanish and completely targeted at the Spainish speaking markets and is unlikely to move or change as it works and attracts 400-500 people that are focused on that market…..We also do an event like this in France in March and likely to do one in Italy too

Barcelona is a rolling conference which is international with content and stands that target all markets, similar to LAC it is a big expo and conference – Reason we went to Barcelona was because it was what the “people” wanted – See pic here https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.381905043514.161185.80091828514#!/photo.php?fbid=10150156244293515&set=a.381905043514.161185.80091828514&type=1&theater

If you want us to move it to another city and we can investigate but it isn’t as simple as you think and has zero baring on whether we like Spain or not, the three we presented in the vote was what we could get, personally I wanted Amsterdam but it wasn’t available so couldn’t be voted on

    1) Needs to be in a country that is iGaming Friendly (i.e. not Germany)
    2) Venue needs 5,000 sqm on one floor
    3) Venue needs to be near or close to city centre
    4) City needs to be reasonably easy to fly to
    5) City needs to be “fun” and “appealing”
    6) Venue (obviously) needs to not be hundreds of thousands
    7) Venue needs to be available (harder than you think)
    8) City needs hotels with free rooms for around 700-1,000 people available at that time

As I say just name a city and we will look into it

Oh and reason we did the vote on Buda is some key sponsors said affiliate feedback was that they won’t going to come back and although we had already booked we offered it out to the masses as we fully understand that you guys drive the event and are the backbone so it really isn’t a decision driven from internal priorities

In the past few years Alex’s crew has done events not only in Spain but also London, Dublin, Paris, Amsterdam, Budapest, Prague, and probably others I can’t recall offhand. I think that’s casting a pretty wide net. And to be fair, Barcelona was one of the original iGaming conference hubs. It’s just a really appealing place to get together.

Spain is also probably more of a focus these days because it’s one of Europe’s larger markets and some big regulatory changes are happening there:

Barcelona here we go! Only a few months left! I will include it in a trip to Tuscany that we wanted to make in October but we will re-schedule it to September! September will be packed, this is when i will get double citizenship and then the USA event won’t be a trouble no more!

    Looking forward to BAC!

    Take care everyone!

I heard Brooke from CAP, Jeremy from PAL, Bonustreak speak – it was great to see them up there and dissect topics and give their opinions from such different points of view.

Brooke was the one that surprised me, I had only swapped emails and PM’s with her.. she knows her stuff. I was in awe.
