Is tracking working?
Anyone know of any tracking issues with 32 Red? Or how often the stats are apparently updated?
Reason I ask is that I created a guest player account via my link a day or two ago and it's not showing in my stats. - 05-24-2008 10:11 AM #2
In the past, players at 32Red had to deposit at least $50 before you would be given credit for the referral. I'm not sure if that is still the case (if it is, it's total B.S.) -- but maybe that explains your stats issue? I haven't logged in in ages; I don't remember if the stats show guest accounts or not.

I do not like their stats reports too. I want to see clicks downloads as additional information.

It can't be a deposit level issue 'cos it was a guest account I created - and my stats show zero guest accounts. Clearly there IS a tracking issue so I'll remove the links I have up until tracking is working again.

Tracking Query
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for posting on CAP and for your interest in our tracking.
The bannertag/tracking system is well established and is continuously tested to ensure efficiency. We understand its the backbone to any successful affiliate program, and its something we take very seriously. Therefore, I'm always more than happy to answer questions, receive feedback and listen to ideas.
FictionNet, I believe your guest conversion (our system tracks these too and will be visible from the sign-up report at the affiliate centre) was not tracked because of the cookie on your computer. If you visit 32Red.com (or any of our other products) within 30 days (sometimes longer, depending on your cookie settings) the cookie will record the manner of your first referral. So if you typed in the URL directly then it will record a relevant code, or if you visited via a search engine or an affiliate then another unique code will be recorded. No matter which method you then subsequently return via, it will use the cookie already set.
Nonetheless, I will pass your details to our IT team who will test your banners, cookie settings and then register through your account. I will email you the results as they come in.
In answer to your other questions: the stats are updated regularly, never any longer than 30 mins. The reporting suite isn't where I want it to be either. Plans are in place for a total redesign and an expansion to include banner clicks and other useful stats.
Thanks again and please let me know if you have any other questions/feedback.
Regards,
Aaron

Yes. This works to the advantage of affiliates, i.e. if you refer a visitor but he/she presses back, you will get credited for the player if he/she converts later. Likewise, when you refer traffic to 32Red.com but they then decide to visit another affiliate site before conversion, then you, as the first and primary affiliate, get credit.

No it definitely does NOT work out for affiliates. What you're using is an ancient system that most programs phrased out years ago. Your system allows for iframe abuse and decent affs who make the sale losing credit.
The system you are using has been abused to hell by dodgy affs in the past and anyone can rip it to pieces and generate fake sales.
There's no way I can promote your prog under this system. - 05-27-2008 07:58 AM #10Registered User

As I've just discussed with you via email, the bannertag and cookie system is robust, with 32Red Affiliates never experiencing abuse of this manner. I will discuss this with our IT team and Microgaming nonetheless, and I thank you for time.
