Looking for UK hosting recommendations of course would like the most bang for the buck.

    eUKhost.com, can’t beat their price.

I was in the web hosting market for 7 years & never heard of this company but to be honest UK competitors were not our largest competition so I could have missed them. They have enough packages to suggest they are not a reseller but on the other hand their site looks a little like a mom & pop shop. I’d try that phone number before signing up & making sure when they say Unlimited domains on their packages that they mean that you can host unlimited accounts & find out if there are any extra “hidden” charges for that or any other aspect of the package.

Is there a BBB for the UK?

For dedicated servers you cannot beat IMO http://www.coreix.net – More expensive than hosting in the US, but the tech support is second to none 24/7

They claim to be in the business for 5 years, although I can agree with Trey that their site looks like a mass-produced template.
I found a couple of reviews here: http://www.webhostingunleashed.com/reviews/eukhost-reviews.htm and some more here: http://www.webhostsonline.com/Reviews/E/euk623/index.htm
I found their cusomer service very responsive. During working hours (UK time zone) they usually respond within 20 minutes. No extra charges for listed basic features on top of what they officially claim, I can confirm that. Unlimited domains hosting promise – true too, at least for me.
The next choice pricewise would be easyspace.co.uk – a much bigger hosting company. The cheapest package (1 domain) – 25 pounds/ year, which is still not too bad. They also have more publicity than eUKhost. But they never responded to a couple of my e-mails with questions which discouraged me. I prefer not to deal with companies who ignore customers’ requests (or busy too much to notice little guys?).

Correcting my mistake in regards to eukhost.com: subdomains– unlimited/ account, addon domains- max 5/ account, parked- max 5/account.

Here is a good question…. Are there any of those hosts that offer serch and directory submissions to sites located within the uk?

I´ve hosted a site with 1&1 UK and have been pretty pleased but decided to consolidate my hosting accounts a couple of months ago  – stupid move.

I´m pretty sure they offer directory submission as well. I did it manually.

Hostway seems pretty sleek as well (shameless plug :hehe: )

I’m also thinking of moving to UK. I found a company call UH Hosting LTD. Anybody heard anything about this company? Also do you need to change your address from the states to the UK?

I don´t think you need to change your address. If your servers are based in the UK and you are not targeting Americans you´ll be fine but I´m not a lawyer.

1st if you are an american, moving to canada is easier than the UK, since NAFTA allows you to open a business like you have in the US and get yourself a work permit via an executive transfer. it’s about 1500 to incorporate and taxes are lower than in UK.

I recommend for dedicated server Dedipower.com and UK2.net. Stay away from ehosting

I’ve used a lot of Pipex companies for shared hosting they seem to be decent.

    Question:

The only way it would be possible for us US residents to move our sites to the UK would be if our payments were also sent to somewhere other than the US, correct?

What about the deal with Neteller – if they won’t be allowed to transfer payments from casinos to US based citizens, how would this work? Or do I have this all wrong? I get the impression that this stuff is still all kind of up in the air.

I would be interested in moving my site, but not if I find out later that I can’t receive my payments via Neteller because i live in the US.

Can anyone confirm this? Is there something I missed?

Also – where is it being stated anywhere that affiliates promoting to US players will get in trouble? Seems to me, all I can find is that they are putting a ban on the banks, credit card companies and payment processors.

Can someone please point this out to me in the bill?

I’m with ewhitaker, but until the dust settles we won’t know what to watch for and what not to worry about.

One thing that I want to know is how can they prove we have signed up U.S. citizens as players? I honestly don’t know where all my players come from and right now I do not want to ask.

I think first and foremost your address for your domain registration needs to be moved out of the States. This is the biggest hurdle-IMO. This is what I am attempting to do first. Once your domain (s) has an overseas addy and you have an overseas Registra then the rest should fall in line. Web host (off shore), Neteller will have your new address. I don’t see why Neteller won’t transfer earnings to your bank because as far as they are concerned you are a just a customer, your not a casino transferring money to the US nor are you a gambler transferring money to a casino. Does this make sense? Feel free to shoot my theory out of the water. A lot of this depends on what guidelines Neteller decides to adopt. This will be take months to shake out, if not years.

Meanwhile we should continue to talk up the Dem. vote in any forum we visit AND place this petition on our web sites. http://www.petitiononline.com/LOGNOW/petition.html
