I cannot believe I am writing this – earlier this week Ted, known best as Spearmaster, has passed away from cancer.
Ted was one of the pioneers in this industry. He was the first affiliate I met in person, and he made me feel right at home.
Ted was – for lack of a better word – real. What you saw is what you got. He was very outspoken and was never afraid to voice his opinon, even when everyone else disagreed.
He started out as affiliate some 10 years ago and later switched to working for Playtech and others.
Through his straight forward approach, he helped shape the industry into what it is today.
Ted, Lou, and Allan were some of the backbones of the affiliate business as we know it today – they were the pioneers – and now all three are gone.
All three were so young… way too young to leave us here.
I know I will miss Ted sorely – whenever we were in the same town at the same time I sought him out and conversation with him was always stimulating.
RIP Ted – you will not be forgotten.

This is terrible news. I didn’t even know he had cancer.
He was so young and such a wonderful guy. I had many dealings with him, and met him at one of the conferences in London.
This is a sad day indeed.RIP Ted, You will be missed so much!!

September 22, 2010 at 10:11 pm #812362AnonymousInactiveI just found out that Ted had no health insurance ad the repeated treatments over the last 8 months ate up his savings, while he was not able to work.
He leaves behind a wife and 3 school age children. They are in dire need of financial help, and literally every penny counts.

We sat next to each other and everyone had a really good time that night. He was a great person to be around and a true force within our industry.
You will be sorely missed. RIP brother.
Let’s hope that this is the end of tragedies within our community.
