Florida Attorney Convicted for Internet Gambling

    David Hampton Tedder of Winter Park, Florida will no longer be working as an attorney. The 56-year old has been convicted of felony charges for his involvement in an offshore Internet gambling ring based in South America.

    He was sentenced to five years in prison Friday and fined more than $1 million by the U.S. District Court in Madison and convicted of four felony counts, besides forfeiting $2.8 million in laundered proceeds and sentenced to three years of supervised release post prison-term. The disgraced attorney was also banned from practicing law in 2001 when he was to resign his law license in California.

    Tedder (one of the eight people indicted) was involved in Gold Medal Sports, an online betting service based in Wisconsin but operated from the Dutch Netherland Antilles off South America. Gold Medal Sports, processed $402.7 million in bets from U.S gamblers online from 1996 to early 2000.
