The Chico Network which consists of Tiger Gaming, Bet Online, and Sports Betting websites all host a rolling bad beat jackpot for poker.
It is normal that an administrative fee is taken from such a promotion. However, these guys took it to another level charging 1.5-3x what other operators charge. To top it off, they raised the fees during the promotion right around the time the BBJ hit a $1,000,000 prize pool.
In effect, the players lost out on an extra $30,000 from the already inflated administrative fee. In total, this network took $190,000 to run a promotion! Quite the windfall from a player funded promotion eh?
