I’ve noticed Goog ranking a few tags on some sites, but so far not noticed any category pages ranking. Not seen any tags making it past page 2 for long tails though.
You can get those internal pages to rank if you send them internal links from related posts. But to be honest, I’d prefer to send links to more important posts that carry monetization to boost their serp authority.
