My answer is divided into two parts. The fact is that if and when the U.S. opens up as a market, the major operators will already have marketing departments and vehicles in place. In particular, the land-based operators who’ll be dipping into the online market for the first time have gigantic email lists of potential players (who’ve visited their properties before) to market to.
So, on the one hand, they won’t truly “need” affiliates.
On the other hand, let’s say I’m off on my assumption… in all likelihood they’re going to want to hook up with those superaffiliates who already dominate the affiliate marketplace…
If you’re not one of those superaffiliates (and if you’re scouring these messageboards, you probably aren’t at that level), it might be wise to try and ride their coattails as a subaffiliate, if allowed under whatever laws eventually get passed.
