Spam is such a hot button with people that I have avoided using email for marketing.
They should send those people to some gulag in Siberia.
My junk email address is getting lighter, but that was due to a hosting company that shut down an account with 12 domains of mine because one of them was infected with a phishing scheme. Those bozos just shut it off with no email notification (to my real account). Good thing it was a host that I am paring down (for obvious reasons).
