Hi Hermski,

You post a very good question:

One thing I’m still wondering though is: If you look up a website optimized for desktop use on your mobile and click on an Affiliate link that redirects you to the mobile version of the Online Casino, is the registration still being tracked or lost? If there is mobile specific tracking, then I am guilty of still not having applied those (I have no website in place optimized for mobile use). Any ideas?

As the mobile tracking has become a lot better over the last 2 years, there is still a lot of weakness in the gaming operators ability to proper link mobile affiliates. Our experience is that Casino is a lot better than Sportbooks, but there is still some pieces missing.

Be very careful if you link to online casinos with desktop links that are being clicked on by mobile users. Depending on the casino and the link structure you are using, the users might face that they are being redirected to the mobile casino and not the online desktop casino (many operators uses detection scripts to identify mobile traffic). And for tracking purposes, here is what we have experienced:

We have seen that some casinos are able to still credit all user registrations and deposits to the affiliate as they are able to keep a transparent affiliate tagging system running on both mobile and desktop casino.

But there are a lot of casinos that are using a different affiliate parameter system (mobile casino is again based on 3.rd party servers), and it would not be detected if links are consisting of desktop affiliate parameters. In most cases the casino’s affiliate department is able to provide its affiliates with dedicated links to be used for mobile traffic, which you should request from them.

My tip is to setup a M-web version of your casino portal and use a similar detection script to identify mobile users visiting your portal and show them your mobile casino portal where all links are properly setup with mobile games.

You will probably experience that quite some casinos are not mobile ready yet, but just start with the casinos that have a mobile version of the ones you are working with today.

Best,
