I don’t think it has to do with location really. I think the reason you may have come to that assertion is because (not sure if my numbers are correct) 65-70% of most afffiliates programs are based there in that location. At least all the ones i deal with.
I have been burned from Affiliate Programs from several countries and never think of it in terms of location – its more to do with the company policy and business moral.
Take for example Bewinners – they are suppose to be a leader in this industry and well respected brand and indeed they were for so many years. I absolutely loved BWIN back in the day when they were an ethical company.
But over the last year or year and a half they have shown what assholes they have become. Not only have they hurt affiliates in severe fashions – but they have went so far as to bad mouth other industry leaders in some of their press releases while tutting their own horn.
If anything I would rate them top of the list – because they were sneaky – they built a reputation for years and years and waited till they had a stranglehold on markets and at the end of it all – shoved the finger in the air at many who supported them.
Even their sponsorship deals often go sour! They are ruthless! They do not care who they hurt – as long as they benefit along the way for themselves!
I really feel Party is going to feel the pain dealing with them – mind you Party is the sidekick anyways….

Bwin if Fred and Barney is Party – Barney sticks his head up Fred’s arse all the time…
The funny part is they are supported from from IGB/LAC who allow them sponsorships and to be able to appear as the good guys!! LOL
I recall when every forum and affiliate were boycotting them and when the event organizers said they support a whole community action!!
They of course for whatever reason also told affiliates to shove it and back stabbed us.
Its the way the industry runs! Do not trust your grandmother!
A close 2nd – Europartners! They are leeches in this industry! They suck the life blood right out of affiliates and really show you what slavery is in this industry.
Problem is everyone still has a bit of Stockholm Syndrome and cant see the light at the end of the tunnel…
haha there is more of course – in this case one is from that location and another from Austria..
Whatever – in any business there will be scum!
