Well, make no mistake, the iPhone is still extremely popular. Apple is selling so many of them, it’s breaking records again and again. But Apple is the only company that can make iPhones, whereas Android can be offered by a variety of different phone manufacturers. That means there’s going to be more of them produced, and they’re going to tend to be a bit cheaper, too. So, more of the new phones being sold are on Google’s Android operating system, but there are still plenty of people buying iPhones, too.
Bottom line: People are buying a ton of smartphones! But for mobile marketers, the Android market seems to have the more profitable future.
