In an effort to not duplicate what has been posted elsewhere, I simply wish to reiterate the current situation at BCP after an hour long call this week with a few of their remaining team members who have stayed on to assist in the closing down of the operations. I would like to make it clear this is in no way is this an attempt to defend BCP – our goal is to ensure all affiliates are informed and can make the right decision for their businesses.
In summary, as a result from the events of Black Friday, BCP was forced to close their operation. According to BCP, the reason why any player is/was able to make a real player registration is due to the fact that the registration was made from outside the US or the player slipped through while the operations people behind the casinos were in the process of shutting down US play. They were told that the operators are in the process of shutting down and the priority was to block any new US play as quickly as possible with non-US play following shortly thereafter. These actions are now in effect. If you were able to register from the U.S., please send me your player username and I will ask BCP to address this. The BCP staff mentioned that they had provided affiliates with the ability to redirect their traffic during this transition period to give affiliates more time to update their links manually. Furthermore, I have been assured by the BCP team that it is their understanding that the casinos will be closed as soon as possible. At present, no new registrations are being accepted and in the very near future no existing players will be allowed to play. They also assured me that this is NOT a ploy to come back under some sort of guise in X months. I was made aware through several sources that the company has laid off the majority of its staff and the rest will be gone as soon BCP has wrapped up the last of their commitments, which has included the managing of recent payouts.
Many of you might ask – what’s taking so long for them to close the casinos? In my opinion, the delay is because it’s a very complicated situation. Unless properly planned months in advance, it would have been nearly impossible for the casinos to settle all of the player funds and issues within a week’s time, which is causing the delay. They told me it was their belief that paying out all of the players is the casino’s first priority, which is reasonable. As for BCP, affiliates are being paid from the money they are receiving based on payments the casino receives from their processors. I believe close to 200 have already received a payment. If you have not received a payment yet, I can only assume that you will *not* be paid unless BCP receives further funds.
Finally, here is my advice to any affiliate who is still aggressively promoting in the U.S. market. Look at moving to CPA deals exclusively or be aware of the serious risks that exist on revshare. It is important to understand that processors are being seized on a frequent basis and any affiliate on a rev-share deal would very likely be considered a partner of the casino since they share in the proceeds. The U.S. market will not be getting better under this environment and the long term outlook for this market is unsure. If you target the U.S. market, you are making the same gamble as the player and the casino itself. Exercise great caution when spending for links, PPC, or media buys – you literally may never see that money.
I wish I had better news to share with you all about the situation, but when a company essentially goes bankrupt, there is nothing more we can do.
I will monitor this thread and will try to answer any questions that may come up.
Hi Warren, you sound like an echo of Jeff from BCP, when I spoke to him last. Yuck.
Edit:
I should say, I disagree that we as affiliates would be considered partners in crime.. google places my website where it wants, and the casinos are the ones who decide what type of processing they have in place, shady or not and whether or not they allow US players to deposit..
Edit again:
I should also say, Im not a lawyer.. just my opinion.
