Just heard this very sad news and the captain was a true legend and a person I could always rely on. I remember late nights chatting with him online after having a barcadi cola or two and just discussing life in general. He is a true gentleman and someone I will miss deeply on a personal level. I have so many fond memories or him including going for a midnight deep in the sea at a conference in Miami and sitting late at night enjoying a drink at the bar with him.
The only comforting thought I have is knowing he has gone to a place where he can rest easily with a daughter he soo much loved that was taken away a few years ago.
RIP in peace Alan and Patty and Melissa will continue to always have friends here.
