see those sitelinks? that’s an authority site. lol at several thousand pages, boy do u talk rubbish.
Since you decided to call me out in 2 posts now, I guess I need to defend myself. First of all I don’t “talk rubbish”, I simply offer advice from a combination of my SEO experience and industry resources that I keep up with on a regular basis. Just my way of giving back to a community that has helped me out along the way.
Regarding Authority Sites…
The SEO world is one of the frontiers of the web and there is no standard definition of an Authority Site. Some SEO experts say it’s the amount of content on your website, others say it’s the strength of your hub and spoke link relationships and other’s simply say if you are ranked top 10 for a competitive keyword then you are an authority site.
Personally, I think the following definition sums it up best (not my definition BTW):
A measure of the quality (in the all-powerful opinion of the search engine company) of a given site, gauged by some combination of size, importance, relevance.
The site mentioned at the start of this post could be considered an authority site based on their backlink count and top 10 ranking for a competitive keyword, however there are other keywords they are targeting on sub-pages that are much less competitive and those pages aren’t in the top 100. The site also has 372 pages indexed in Google which makes it a mid-sized website. Compete reports that this site had 519 visitors last month. All-in-all I would say the website is well positioned for success, but not sure that it rises to the level of a true authority site.
Casino City is probably the best example of an authority site in this industry.
9,770 pages
143,000 backlinks
top 10 rankings all over the place
245,000 reported visitors last month
Sorry to have hijacked this post Webin, you’ve certainly done a good job with your website’s SEO.
