I got in touch with Moneybookers immediately, they were helpful and were able to return back the first transaction of USD 1108.50 sucessfully. The second one they said that they would not be able to return back as Bet365 was a online casino and the person had already used the money.
Now my question is – even is the person had hacked my username and password how the hell did he find out my Security Answer, further investigation i found out that the person was from Vietnam.
This is some serious issue with Moneybookers, my intuition says that it must be someone inside moneybookers providing some vital information outside or selling it…i am not sure still how did the Hacker get to know my Security Answer?
Has Anyone else faced this issue with Moneybookers Before?
I can’t say that this has happened to me with Moneybookers, but this has happened to me with Paypal before.
It is possible that you have a virus or something on your machine that has a keylogger or similar. In this case they wouldn’t need the answer to your secret question.
Another thing I would consider is if you have used the same password for a few things. They may have gotten access to another of your accounts somewhere then just tried their luck on moneybookers.
I would suggest to regularly change up your password and regularly check all accounts to make sure there is no funny business going on.
You’re lucky the amount was so small.. I had almost 8k stolen from my bank account through paypal.
I would also consider contacting Bet365 as they should be able to see which account the money was deposited into if it wasnt your own. If it was your own account I would be questioning the security of your PC.
