The organizational structure here is that there are two supermods with supermod capabilities enabled who oversee all the forums. And the supermods confer with admin about several types of decisions, decisions are made as a group.
Then there are forum mods who have normal mod capabilities enabled and when they wish to make changes that exeed their capabilities they come to a supermod.
These are the checks and balances that were put into place due to someone going berserk with deleting things and banning people and whatnot.
If the organizational structure was changed, I should have been told.
Also, legal issues are matters of policy and I don’t set policy. I just follow it. If I want policy changed, I go to admin.
I was under the impression that I was still supermod and that such things as chopping up posts went through me. (And by the way, re. merging the posts – they still would not have made any sense to readers.)
It sounds like things were not explained to one of us. Hence my request to admin to explain.
