The World Series of Poker tie in with numerous online poker brands is starting to ramp up for us down under here in Australia I’ve noticed. PartyPoker, PKR and Virgin Poker are on the upswing for us. I’m a huge fan of Doyle Brunson however his poker brand’s not working for us in a b2b – affiliate capacity at the moment. Maybe the ACMA blacklist doesn’t like cowboy legends who play poker or something. It’s great to see poker tours like the WSOP and World Poker Tour starting to be more pro active on the online b2b and affiliate side of things. It will be interesting to also track the developments at Harrah’s Entertainment giving the signing up of the former PartyGaming exec. Watch out for Australia’s Crown Casino to ramp up with poker tournaments, followed by Crown Casino, and California is following the igaming legal side of things closely. What’s William Hill doing with poker tourneys I wonder. Europe is not exactly warm to Betfair at the moment so don’t expect to see Betfair branding at the events! PartyPoker with Mike Sexton’s leadership and credibility, and playing politics correctly… now that’s a different story. Only the strong (and smart) will survive, both on and off the poker table. Some online affiliate brands are on a lifeline at the moment and my sources tell me some have only a few weeks of air left in them. The industry will be a better place after loosing a couple of affiliate brands who don’t pay and rip off affiliates. There’s few brands out there that haven’t been so “lucky” for many. I believe that WSOP will do their best to ensure that their great brand doesn’t get bastardised by bad affiliate programs. Time will tell… it always does.

With first round concluded, second round of event takes place this weekend
May 15, 2009 (CAP Newswire) — This Sunday, Eurobet.com will conclude its $70,000 Poker Points trade-in promotion by holding the second of two WSOP qualifiers. With WSOP fever heating up this month, it’s a good bet that Eurobet affiliates can use this promotion to their advantage.
The prize allows Eurobet’s players the opportunity to trade-in their loyalty program Poker Points for tickets before the first of June, when all points will be reset to make way for the company’s new Loyalty Scheme.
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the popularity so far of our trade-in campaign,” Matt Steer, Operations Manager at Eurobet.com, said. “But we’re still focused on ensuring all our players get involved and make their points count before the end of the month. I would urge any player to act now and enter one of the great events still to be held, before their balance is set back to zero.”
In addition to the ultimate prize, the $70,000 Poker Points trade-in promotion also includes a guaranteed prize pool of cash, tickets and WSOP seats in more than 26 events. The grand finale will run on Saturday, 30 and Sunday, 31 May where players will be given the opportunity to win WSOP packages worth an estimated $20k.
