My question is how is this being handled (if at all) and what solution do you have for this situation? I know that we can’t delete their posts, but not sure what should be done.

When a user has asked to be removed, they are placed into a usergroup in which they can still login and check past PM’s or continue receiving new PM’s. Although they are still able to view the forums, they are unable to post threads or posts since they asked to be removed from participating in the community
We do this because we like to practice an open-door policy and always welcome members back to CAP. We do not want to delete someone’s account unjustly because they may have important materials in their private messages. If we delete the user entirely, they are removed from the database, and their PM’s are automatically deleted along with the account as well.
In Stemat’s case, he had asked to be removed from the community, so he was placed into the no access usergroup. However, he then logged in to check the forums, and was unhappy with that, so he was deleted entirely.
