Good move on the part of the Republic of Ireland. Over the last 20 years or so, they’ve been very smart about how to bring revenue into the country without going down the dubious offshore tax haven thing that many small island economies fall prey to.
The Irish have been very savvy in being strongly pro-EU, but now that times are tougher, it’s good to see that they’re still thinking clearly about how to maintain a vibrant economy.
I, for one, think this is a good move and one that might be picked up on by certain aspects of the US government as America starts to look for new sources of sustainable revenue.
