The meeting was eagerly anticipated by us, but it was postponed for unknown reasons to me.
Warren told me they told him we could go to South Africa if we wished to discuss things in depth. I am not giving up though and once I get back to the US I am going to ask Warren to get all the principals on a conference call to decide what, if anything, Grand Prive/Villa Fortuna is willing to do to rectify the situtaion. I also intend to continue to remind Microgaming and eCogra that this sort of rogue behavior by a single operator tarnishes the fine reputation they have earned over the years with affiliates and players.
On the subject of rumors….
Since the antagonists involved have no real substance to offer they put out an endless string of rumors and exagerations. Though I love CAP and our members and the events all these other circus acts are really tiresome and seem to be orchestrated by Marc Lesnick.
I hope the other “people” involved are sincere in their desire to move forward in a positive direction instead of this mud trail we have been slogging through for the past few months. We have so many wonderful things planned for 2009 and these constant distractions are annoying, but will ultimately change nothing. CAP will grow and prosper despite their efforts.
Tell you what I am still shocked about is the hypocrisy of some of the new folks who jumped on the band wagon. Bryan Bailey was at the CAP Awards and CAP Euro and we spoke frequently and cordially. We will post the pictures of he and I and Ted Loh at the events and I think most everyone saw it. Yet when he returned to Germany the friendly behavior flwe out the window and the negative shenanigans started again at CM. Dom you and Christine were actually at the events and you saw the truth. We had a great show with nearly 1700 affiliates and operators in attendence throughout the events. Evreyone had a great time and the parties were fabulous.
Yes, I did call Jay Toad out and I dont apologize for that, I know its hard to understand but he has really crossed the line personally with me and I would love to settle it once and for all. Call me an ogre but so be it. I am old school and men dont disrepsect other men without some sort of consequence. Its a man thing, blame testosterone.
I didnt see continuous fires or anyone running with buckets of water in hand to put them out. It was a great event and Amsterdam will be twice the size of London and even more fun and productive.
I did apologize to Steve and Michael Corfman for acting out after Jay Toad riled me up and I do regret that Steve was ejected by hotel security. We all had a two hour meeting the next day. So hopefully that is a start to a new peace.
But, to be totally honest, we did not invite GPWA or APCW to the event and we rejected their applications for tickets based upon their extremely hostile behavior over the past few months. They were well aware of this. They had no business turning up and solicting our clients and members at a CAP event. And I stand by that. We didnt turn up in Las Vegas at their “event” and they should have had the same courtesy. Any resulting incidents were their fault and clearly set up to cause embarassment to CAP. It wasnt an accident or unfortunate coincidence.
Needless to say this is not the politically correct view others in my organization share so I wont post it publically, but I would hope I can at least discuss this with my moderators and old friends.
Enough venting for now. I have an early plane to catch. Chat with you guys privately when its expedient to do so.
